Planned Parenthood – a Safe Space for Trans People with HRT & Gender Confirming Healthcare in Virginia and West Virginia

Hi Everyone,

Did you know that 18+ patients can receive Hormone Replacement Therapy at many Planned Parenthood Health Centers around the country? Check this list for the Planned Parenthood Health Centers around the country that offer Trans Health Care.  Planned Parenthood also has some great educational programs related to gender identities, check the previous link or your local Planned Parenthood Health Center.

Even more importantly, did you know that Planned Parenthood offers many services, even HRT via telehealth?  This means that if you are not physically close to a Planned Parenthood Health Center that offers Hormone Replacement Therapy in your state that has a Telehealth program, you don’t have to travel to a physical site to get HRT.  If the center provides HRT via telehealth, typically a presciption for your hormones can be sent to you and fullfilled at a nearby pharmacy.

Planned Parenthood Health Centers are also great places to get to know because they provide many other important services.  These services include sexual and reproductive health, screenings and treatments for HIV and STD’s, men’s and women’s health care, primary and preventative health care and often also many routine medical screenings for a variety of conditions.  Planned Parenthood Health Centers accept many insurance programs as well as medicare, medicaid, and some can also help you identify an affordable insurance program or help you understand if you qualify for programs to help pay for medical care.

Virgina

Planned Parenthood Health Centers in Virginia are part of (2) Planned  Parenthood organizations, Planned Parenthood of the South Atlantic organization – PPSA and Virginia League for Planned Parenthood – VLPP.

Planned Parenthood of the South Atlantic organization – PPSA has (2) Health Care Centers in Virgina and Telehealth.  All of the PPSA Healthcare Centers in Virginia offer sexual/reproductive and women’s & men’s healthcare.  Hormone replacement therapy is available at the health center in Charlotte and the second health center is in Roanoake

Virginia League for Planned Parenthood – VLPP has (4) Health Centers in Virginia and (3) offer Gender Affirming Healthcare.  Some of the VLPP also offer Telehealth and Telehealth for LGBTQ services.  All of the VLPP Healthcare Centers in Virginia offer sexual/reproductive and women’s & men’s healthcare.  Hormone replacement therapy is available at the health center in health centers located in Richmond (East End), Richmond (Hamilton) and Virginia Beach and there is a fourth health center in Hampton that offers services besides HRT.

If you are not close to any of the locations that offer hormone replacement therapy, try calling the telehealth services at PPSA and VLPP, especially in Charlotte, Richmond, Hamilton and Virginia Beach.

West Virginia

The Planned Parenthood Health Center in West Virginia is part of the Planned Parenthood of the South Atlantic organization – PPSA .

Planned Parenthood of the South Atlantic organization – PPSA has (1) health center in West Virginia and Telehealth.  The PPSA health center in West Virginia is located in  Vienna and it offers HRT and sexual/reproductive and women’s & men’s healthcare.
