HRT and Help for Transgender People from Planned Parenthood in Texas and Vermont

Hi Everyone,

Did you know that 18+ patients can receive Hormone Replacement Therapy at many Planned Parenthood Health Centers around the country? Check this list for the Planned Parenthood Health Centers around the country that offer Trans Health Care.  Planned Parenthood also has some great educational programs related to gender identities, check the previous link or your local Planned Parenthood Health Center.

Even more importantly, did you know that Planned Parenthood offers many services, even HRT via telehealth?  This means that if you are not physically close to a Planned Parenthood Health Center that offers Hormone Replacement Therapy in your state that has a Telehealth program, you don’t have to travel to a physical site to get HRT.  If the center provides HRT via telehealth, typically a presciption for your hormones can be sent to you and fullfilled at a nearby pharmacy.

Planned Parenthood Health Centers are also great places to get to know because they provide many other important services.  These services include sexual and reproductive health, screenings and treatments for HIV and STD’s, men’s and women’s health care, primary and preventative health care and often also many routine medical screenings for a variety of conditions.  Planned Parenthood Health Centers accept many insurance programs as well as medicare, medicaid, and some can also help you identify an affordable insurance program or help you understand if you qualify for programs to help pay for medical care.

Texas

Planned Parenthood Health Centers in Texas are part of (3) Planned Parenthood organizations Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas, Inc. – PPGT, Planned Parenthood South Texas – PPST and Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast, Inc. – PPGC.

Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas – PPGT, has (14) Healthcare Centers, Transgender Health Care, inclding HRT and Telemedicine for some services.  All of the Healthcare Centers offer hormone replacement therapy as well as sexual/reproductive and women’s & men’s healthcare.  The (14) healthcare centers are in the following locations, Addison, Arlington, Austin (South), Austin (Downtown), Bedford. Cedar Hill, Dallas, Denton, El Paso, Southeast Fort Worth, Southwest Forth Worth, Mesquite, Paris, Plano.  If you are not physically close to one of these sites, check with their telehealth service to see if they can arrange to offer HRT remotely or call Planned Parenthood South Texas Telehealth.

Planned Parenthood South Texas – PPST has (6) Health Centers, Gender Affirming Hormone Therapy, and Telehealth for HRT and other services.  All of the health centers offer sexual/ reproductive and women’s & men’s health.  The health centers are located in Brownsville, Harlingen,  San Antionio (Marbach),  San Antonio (San Pedro), San Antonio (Southeast), San Antonio (Northeast).  If you are not close enough to any of these options, you can use Telehealth for gender affirming HRT.

Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast, Inc – PPGC has (8) health centers in the Houston area and offers Trans Health Care.  All of the PPGC locations offer sexual/ reproductive and women’s & men’s health care as well as service referrals for LGBTQ patients.  Gender affirming HRT is offered at the following (3) locations, Houston (Northville Health Centere), Tyler and Waco and the remaining locations are in Prevention Park Health Center in Houston, Southwest Health Center in Houston, Northwest Health Center in Houston, Spring Health Center in Spring, and Stafford Health Center in Stafford.  Telehealth maybe offered for some services, but if you are not close enough to a site that offers HRT, called Planned Parenthood South Texas which offerss HRT via Telehealth.

Vermont

Planned Parenthood Health Centers in Vermont are part of Northern New England – PPNNE which has (12) locations in Vermont and most services are also available by Telehealth.  All of the PPNNE Health Centers offer sexual/ reproductive and women’s & men’s health care as well as service referrals for LGBTQ patients.  The following (7) locations offer gender affirming HRT, Barre,  Brattleboro, Hyde Park, St. Albans, Burlington, Rutland and White River Junction. The remaining locations are in Bennington, Middlebury, Newport, St. Johnsbury and Williston.  Although PPNNE does not explicitly list HRT as a service offered via telehealth, they state that many of their services are offered by telehealth, so if you are not close enough to a physical site, try calling Telehealth and requesting remote HRT.
