HRT and Help for Transgender Patients from Planned Parenthood in Florida, Hawaii, Idaho and Illinois

Did you know that 18+ patients can receive Hormone Replacement Therapy at many Planned Parenthood Health Centers around the country? Check this list for the Planned Parenthood Health Centers around the country that offer Trans Health Care.  Planned Parenthood also has some great educational programs related to gender identities, check the previous link or your local Planned Parenthood Health Center.

Even more importantly, did you know that Planned Parenthood offers many services, even HRT via telehealth?  This means that if you are not physically close to a Planned Parenthood Health Center that offers Hormone Replacement Therapy, if that Planned Parenthood in your state has a Telehealth program, you don’t have to travel to a physical site to get HRT.  If the center provides HRT via telehealth, typically a presciption for your hormones can be sent to you and fullfilled at a nearby pharmacy.

Planned Parenthood Health Centers are also great places to get to know because they provide many other important services.  These services include sexual and reproductive health, screenings and treatments for HIV and STD’s, men’s and women’s health care, primary and preventative health care and often also many routine medical screenings for a variety of conditions.  Planned Parenthood Health Centers accept many insurance programs as well as medicare, medicaid, and some can also help you identify an affordable insurance program or help you understand if you qualify for programs to help pay for medical care.

Florida has  (19) Planned Parenthood Health Centers that belong to (2) different Planned Parenthood organizations.  The (2) Planned Parenthood organizationations are (1) Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida – PPSWCF and (2) Planned Parenthood of South, East and North Florida – PPSENF.  Nearly all of the Planned Parenthood locations offer gender affirming hormone therapy both in their health centers and through telehealth

Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida offers Gender Affirming Hormone Therapy at (8) of their (9) locations at the Health Center site and through telehealth .  PPSWCF Health Centers are Fort Myers Health Center, Fort Myers, Kissimee Health Center, Kissimee, Lakeland Health Center, Lakeland, Naples Health Center, Naples, East Orlando Health Center, East Orlando, Sarasota Health Center, Sarasota, St. Petersburg Health Center, St. Petersburg, Tampa Health Center, Tampa.  There is also North Tampa Health Center, Tampa, but it does not offer HRT according to its website.

Planned Parenthood of South, East and North Florida – PPSENF offers Transgender Care/ Gender Affirming Hormone Therapy at all (11) locations at the Health Center sites and through telehealth.  PPSENF Health Centers are Boca Raton Health Center, Boca Raton Gainesville Health Center, Gainesville, Jacksonville Health Center, Jacksonville, Kendall Health Center, Miami, Jean Shehan Health Center, Miami, Golden Glades Health Center, Miami, Tallahassee Health Center, Tallahassee, Jacksonville Health Center, Jacksonville, Treasure Coast Health Center, Port Saint Lucie, Wellington Health Center, Wellington (West Palm Beach) and West Palm Beach Health Center, West Palm Beach.

Hawaii has (4) Planned Parenthood Health Centers associated with Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest and Hawaiian Islands – PPGNHI.  PPGNHI now offers Gender Affirming Hormone Care (HRT) at all 27 of their Health Centers in Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho and western Washington.  Alaska’s (4) Health Care Centers are located in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Juneau, and Soldotna.  Planned Parenthood in Alaska does not appear to have telehealth at the moment, but you may want to call the centers for an update as many centers have started telehealth to promote social distancing since the out break of Covid-19.

Idaho has (3) Planned Parenthood Health Centers and these are also associated with Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest and Hawaiian Islands – PPGNHI.  PPGNHI now offers Gender Affirming Hormone Care (HRT) at all 27 of their Health Centers in Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho and western Washington.  Idaho’s (3) Health Care Centers are located in Boise, Meridian,, and Twin Falls.  Planned Parenthood in Alaska does not appear to have telehealth at the moment, but you may want to call the centers for an update as many centers have started telehealth to promote social distancing since the out break of Covid-19.

Illinois has (18) Planned Parenthood Health Centers and telehealth associated Planned Parenthood of Illinos PPIL and (1) associated with Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri – PPSLSWM.

Planned Parenthood of Illinois offers hormone replacement therapy through their Gender Affirming Hormone Therapy programs at all of their  19 locations.  There are (11)  in PPIL Health Centers in Chicago and surrounding suburbs and (7) in Central Illinois.  Many of the Health Centers also offer HRT through Telehealth.

• Health Centers in the city of Chicago are in the neighborhoods of Austin, Englewood, Loop, Near North, Rodger Park, Roseland, and Wicker Park.
• Health Centers in the Chicago suburban area are located in Aurora, Flosmoor, Orland Park and Waukegan.
• Health Centers located in Central Illinois are in Bloomington, Champain, Decatur, Fairview Heights, Ottawa, Pekin, Peoria and Springfield.

Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri does not list any programs for LGBTQ patients on their website.
